When a credit report is ordered, the credit bureau creates what is called a “trigger lead”. The bureau may in turn sell lists of leads to othersundefinedsuch as mortgage bankers, brokersundefinedanyone who will pay for the list.  As a result, your customers can receive solicitations for credit through the mail or telephone calls and believe you have provided personal information to third parties outside your company when in fact, that information has come from the credit bureau.  For more information and/or to "opt out" of this click here.
