The Madison Chapter invites you to this educational event to learn what Mike Theo, president of the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) has to say about Wisconsin’s real estate marketplace. We will also hear Jim Johannes, director of the Puelicher Center for Banking Education at UW-Madison who will give us some insight on the rising rate environment and the economy.


Speakers
Jim Johannes is currently Interim Associate Dean for Executive and Evening MBA Programs, Aschenbrener Chair of Banking & Finance, Graduate School of Banking, Prochnow Professor of Banking and Director of the Puelicher Center for Banking Education in the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
 
His research interests focus on banking and financial institutions and monetary economics and policy. He has published a book on control of the money supply, a strategic planning manual for credit unions, and numerous articles on monetary policy and banking.
 
In addition to his teaching duties in the areas of banking and financial institutions at UW-Madison, is currently a member of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Policy Committee. Johannes chaired the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institution's committee to rewrite the Wisconsin Consumer Act, and was a member of the Governor's Commission on UW System Compensation. He has served as a faculty member in the Prochnow Graduate School of Banking, the ABA School of Real Estate Finance, CUNA Management School, and the Mortgage Bankers Association School of Mortgage Banking.






Mike Theo joined the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association staff in 1985, managing the association’s legal, legislative, political, research and public relations operations. Mr. Theo was named President and CEO of the Association in 2011.
 
He attended the UW-Madison and holds a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives and the REALTORS® Certified Executive (RCE) designation from the National Association of REALTORS®. 
 
Mr. Theo is active in a number of area associations including:
