12:00pm - 1:30pm
Ron Dayne & Matt Lepay

Ron Dayne etched his name into the college football history books by rushing for 6,397 yards with the Wisconsin Badgers and setting the NCAA career rushing record. He capped off his collegiate career by winning the Heisman Trophy in 1999, along with numerous additional awards and All-American recognition. Dayne led Wisconsin to back-to-back Rose Bowl victories in his final two seasons. He’s the only Big Ten player in history to win back-to-back Rose Bowl MVP awards. In 2013 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He is also a member of both the Rose Bowl and Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame.

His #33 was retired by Wisconsin Athletics and his name and number can be seen by all on the Camp Randall Stadium facade, accompanied by other Wisconsin Football legends. In the 2000 NFL Draft, Dayne was selected with the 11th pick by the New York Giants and played in Super Bowl XXXV. Dayne played for 8 years in the NFL and also spent time with the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans. Currently, Dayne resides in Madison and is involved with various marketing and charitable activities, in addition to working with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletic Department.

In his more than 35 years in Wisconsin, Matt Lepay has become one of the state’s most recognizable voices.  He is an 11-time winner of the Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year, and in June of 2024, Matt was inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. Matt will be entering his 31st season as the radio voice of Badger football.  He has called 28 bowl games, including six Rose Bowls. The 2024-25 season will be the 37th for Matt as the radio voice of Wisconsin basketball.  This includes 25 NCAA Tournaments and three Final Fours, including the National Championship game in 2015.
This September, Matt will enter the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as a “Friend” of basketball in our state.

In addition to Matt’s play-by-play duties, he serves as host of the Greg Gard and Luke Fickell radio shows, as well as the weekly Badger Sports Report TV program.  Matt also serves as emcee at a number of functions for the University of Wisconsin and many other events in Wisconsin. From 2014-21, he served as a fill-in TV announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers, calling as many as 55-60 games a season. In 2012, Matt authored the book, Why Not Wisconsin?, a collection of stories from his view as the radio announcer of UW football and basketball.
